Lady Gaga turns editor and pays tribute to late, great fashion friends

Singer, Golden Globe-nominated actress, model; Lady Gaga is many things, and now she"s an editor too.

The 29-year-old has guest-edited the latest issue of artsy magazine V, and used the opportunity to celebrate the 15 fashion figures she most admires.The issue has a record-breaking 16 alternative covers.

The others belong fashion legends both past and present - and here we can exclusively reveal those featuring Lee McQueen, better known as Alexander McQueen,and Isabella Blow, a well-respected fashion editor and stylist,in never-before-seen images captured by Steven Klein.Before their respective deaths, both were hugely influential to Gaga.

“When I first started doing photo shoots people would say, My God, you look so much like Isabella Blow, it scares me.And McQueen used to say, Oh, my God, your boobs!He actually grabbed both of them and said, Even your boobs are like hers!"” she once said.

Her love for McQueen"s work is well documented.She regularly wears his designs, most notably in her Bad Romance video, and last year spent £190,000 on three pairs of his iconic"Armadillo" shoes.

Both McQueen and Blow, who were close friends, committed suicide.McQueen in 2010 and Blow in 2007.Both had battled depression.

"All the people on my covers have healed me in some way," she says in her inaugural editor"s letter, adding:"My coverhumans [sic] share something profound in common that I have observedin myself since I was a young child.It"s an ability through our innate sadness as creatives to find a glimmer of fantasy and hope through our art."

Other figures featured in her "fashion guard" include Daphne Guinness, Hedi Slimaneand Karl Lagerfeld.
