Kate Hudson on being confident in her body on the red carpet

On Sunday, the starhit the red carpet in London in a plunging blush J. Mendal pleated gown at the European premiere of her upcoming film Kung Fu Panda 3.

The co-founder of fitness clothing Fabletics explained to The Telegraphthat she cares more about how her body feels in a gown, than how it looks."I wear what I like and what I"m comfortable in," she said ata book signingfor her wellness biblePretty Happy at Selfridges on Oxford Street."I never wear anything that I don"t feel sort of shifts the way I move.It"s definitely personal taste and everybody has a different experience with what they feel good in, but it"s definitely a feeling that I have rather than what it looks like."

As for how she finds the confidence to wear revealing silhouettes on the red carpet, such as the Maria Lucia Hohan metallic gown she wore to this year"s Oscars parties, shesays it"s all down to dance."I am a dancer, and dancers no matter what size, our movement makes us feel connected with our body and movement so you are less inhibited and connected to it."

She continued:"I don"t think dancers are very self conscious, which is a wonderful thing about dance and why I think, especially for young girls, it"s such a wonderful discipline.It gets girls to feel connected to the body and the way it moves.There is a great attitude that comes with dance."

Hudson is a keen Snapchat and Instagramuser,letting fans see what she is doingthroughout the day via social media.She says that she doesn"t take her profiles too seriously:"It"s not that calculated orthought out, you just do things that are fun."

But she is careful aboutposting pictures of her children Ryder, 12, and Bingham, 4."I try to stay away from that, especially with Bingwho is younger," she told us."Ryder is at the age now where he"s sort of into it and has his own Instagram, but it"s private.But he"ll want me to post something that he thinks is funny and he"s getting more into it and getting a little older.But with Bing I"m very protective."
